How to integrate or link your new blog/site to google analytics easily

Before moving on to the procedure on how you can link your site or blog to google analytics, you may want to read our previous article or tutorial that provides information about loading a custom template to blogger blog by replacing the original or default template From HERE.

Hello, Everyone! Today we are going to show you how you can link your google account to your site or vice versa!
Requirements: 


  1. A fully completed blog with content
  2. Google Account
Ok, Let's start!

Google analytics helps many individuals and business people in tracking their websites visits by providing them a tracking code to track their web sites!

Google analytics can be available for free and premium versions, where everyone knows there would be a difference between premium account and to the free account, that is nothing but the features that are extra in premium account when compared to the classic account or common account.

Google analytics uses two tracking codes for different purposes, whereas one is Universal tracking code and classic or simple tracking code.
The user can have the option to choose what kind of code they want during sign up processing for tracking their website.

It better to use Universal tracking code instead of classic tracking code from google analytics. The reason is that you can have some additional tracking features when use Universal tracking code for tracking your website through google analytics!

Now it's time to confer some work to your hands in setting up tracking code on your website, need not to worry we are here to show you how you can done this entire process with simple steps.

  • Login to your google account 
  • After logging into the google account, you now need to press f6 on your browser to highlight your address bar or OMNI box.
  • After highlighting the address bar, type in the URL below in that field
  • "https://www.google.com/analytics/web" and then press enter to load that page
                          
  • Click on sign into analytics button which is pointed with green arrow
  • As you don't have any google analytics account, google will prompt to take one by sign up.
  • Just click on to sign up for google analytics account in order to track your website or blog on google analytics.
  • After completing the above two steps, it's time to fill up some details about your website in this form. The form contains 5 fields to be filled those are as follows;
  1. Choosing website or mobile app to track
  2. Naming your account name for tracking your website
  3. Mentioning your website name 
  4. Typing your website address
  5. Selecting category of your website
  • To complete the step-1 you need to choose whether you want to track your website or your want to track your mobile app with google analytics
  • In our case, we are showing how you can configure website with google analytics.
  • Choose website and move on the next field that is Naming your account name
  • In step - 2 Name your website of your choice and move on to the next field that is Tying your website name
  • Step -3 can be completed by giving your website name in the website name field
  • Step - 4, In step number four you would be asked to enter your website URL by choosing your website category from HTTPS or HTTP
  • After completing all the above-mentioned steps, it time to choose your website category from different categories like tech, job, education etc.., choose appropriate one 
  • Finally, click on GET TRACKING CODE button to get the tracking code from google analytics
  • After clicking on the GET CODE button, you would be asked to accept the terms and conditions from google analytics, choose your country and accept those terms and conditions by clicking on "I accept" button.
  • The next immediate step after completing the above step would be your tracking code from google analytics
  • Copy entire code and paste in NOTEpad or any other documents for reference purpose.
  • Now it's time to login into your blogger account using www.blogger.com URL
                    
  • Now, directly go to settings and page where you need to paste your tracking ID in number "2"  field which is showing in the above image
  • After completing that step, go to step 3 which is clicking on Template option
  • Now, click on EDIT HTML to insert your google analytics code snippet in your blogger template code
  • Click on CTRL+F on the keyboard for invoking the FIND feature in the browser, now search for ClOSING HEAD tag


  • After finding the CLOSING HEAD tag, now it time for you to paste the entire google analytics code above the CLOSING HEAD tag.
  • Finally, after completing the above step, click on "save template" to save your settings that made recently
  • Again login to your google analytics account to check whether your tracking code is installed correctly or not
  • In not tracking correctly, not to worry, Google analytics would take up to 24 hours to update their servers with your code. So, don't worry and check back another day!
