Hearing Test- Check how old your ears are!
Humans can hear audible range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz under ideal
laboratory conditions, where as humans can also hear the low frequency level 12
Hz. Humans are more sensitive at frequencies between 2k and 5k Hz.
Not everyone would have the same hearing ability, it varies from one human to
another and the audibility range shrinks as we grow old and it also depends on
the general conditions of ears and nervous system.
Women experience a little bit lower hearing loss as they grow older when
compared to men.
Hearing Frequency range not limited to 20 kHz, for example
dolphins and bats have the higher frequency levels and they hear up to 100000
Hz
Below is the list of
ages and their audible laboratory frequencies,
o 8 kHz- any one can hear
this sound frequency.
o 12 kHz – If you are
able to hear 12 kHz then you probably be under 50
o 15 kHz – If you are
able to hear 15 kHz then you probably be under 40
o 16 kHz – If you are
able to hear 16 kHz then you probably be under 30
o 17 kHz – if you are
able to hear 17 kHz then you probably be under 24
o 18 kHz – If you are
able to hear 18 kHz then you probably be under 24
o 19 kHz – If you are
able to 19 kHz then you probably be under 20
o If you are able to hear
all the frequencies that are in the below table, then you probably be under 20
ages means you can hear any frequency and your ear cells are working perfectly
fine.
o Hair cells are
responsible for taking these different frequencies to brain to process those
frequencies.
o As we age these high
and low frequencies in side the ears would shatter those hair cells and damage
the hearing spectrum!
Ø That is why how older
you are the harder it is to hear high pitches!
1. Before testing,
users are advised to update flash plug-in in their browser, get it from Click Me
2. Test your audible
range to find out your ears age! Using below sound frequencies.
